    Papaver Rhoeas is a nectar-producing plant - food source for pollinating insects
    • Poppy seeds are slate grey in colour and have an elusive taste.
    • Extensively used in European and Middle Eastern cookery, particularly for sprinkling on bread, rolls, cakes and biscuits.
    • Poppy seeds also go well with honey as a dressing for fruit, and with noodles and macaroni.
    • This plant produces pollen in abundance and are much visited by honeybees and bumblebees.
