When do we need to cut back the plants?

We planted your Aphid Floral Meadow product this year for the first time and have been very pleased with the success. On your packet it advises to scythe the area 10cm from the ground but doesn't say when.

A) You need to scythe (or cut back with shears) when first year flowering is at an end. This will vary from year to year depending on weather conditions; usually late summer or autumn. We recommend leaving clippings for a week or so before clearing. This will allow the annuals to drop their seed, and the clippings to wilt.

We bought a couple of boxes of wild flowers from you at the garden fair last year, here are a couple of photos of them in flower around our new wildlife pond. They flowered from about 6 weeks after sowing right up to December.
