Can I scatter the seeds over existing grass to create a floral meadow?

We’re afraid not! - the seeds have to be sown into cultivated soil. Whether sowing annual only, or annual/perennial mixtures, there is no substitute for good soil preparation. Download our ‘consumer technical guide’ pdf

When establishing wildflowers in grassy meadows, care should be taken to heavily scarify and clear the area, and where grass is vigorous sow fresh Yellow Rattle seed in autumn.

Last summer at Hampton Court you sold me some meadow seeds for a guerrilla gardening project. Just thought I would send you some photos of some of the results. It makes my daily walk up the road much nicer.  Lyndon Lewis
